Chelsea target not interested in move

Argentine forward Mauro Icardi has no desire to leave Inter amid reported interest from a variety of clubs including Chelsea.

Icardi, 23, was made Inter captain by Roberto Mancini last summer but has been regularly linked with a move away from the San Siro at various times this season.

The controversial frontman is reportedly on a list of potential transfer targets for incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, but the Inter No.9 has no interest in leaving Inter.

“It’s the same story every year. Every year I read that I am leaving Inter,” Icardi told Italian publication Corriere della Sera, via The London Evening Standard.

“But I am happy here. I enjoy being Inter captain, being the club’s striker and to score goals here.

“Of course, I want to win trophies, but I want to do it here at Inter, like so many did before me. Next year we will be gunning for Serie A and to qualify for the Champions League.”

Inter haven’t been as prolific in front of goal as some of their league rivals, but Icardi has still managed to weigh in with 14 games this season. In fact, only Gonzalo Higuain (48) has scored more league goals in Serie A since the start of last season than Icardi (36).
