Revealed: Stats prove Arsenal marvel Bukayo Saka has been the Premier League's Best Player in 2024
With the final international break of the year firmly underway, we’re taking a look back at the Premier League’s highest rated performers for 2024 so far.
To be considered, players must have made at least 20 Premier League appearances since 1 January 2024.
Represented in our top 10 are Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.
10. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 7.41
Manchester City’s goal machine Erling Haaland comes in at 10th, having scored at least four more goals than any other player in the division so far in 2024 (25). Haaland has also netted three hat-tricks so far, the joint-most of any player, along with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.
9. Phil Foden (Manchester City) - 7.47
The second of four Manchester City players to make our top 10 is last season’s Premier League Player of the Year, Phil Foden. The England international has 14 goals and three assists to his name in 2024, having struggled to truly get up and running this season so far.
8. Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) - 7.47
The only non ‘Big Six’ player to earn a spot in our list is Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze, largely thanks to his wondrous form in the second half of the last campaign. Eze is another player yet to replicate last season’s output in 2024/25, but he can still boast 13 goal involvements (nine goals, four assists) in 2024.
7. Kai Havertz (Arsenal) - 7.46
The first of three Arsenal players to make our top 10 is Kai Havertz, who has 20 league goals and assists to his name in this calendar year so far. The Gunners striker was in inspired form during the final months of 2023/24, and has added four goals and an assist so far this term.
6. Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 7.47
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is one of only five players with eight or more goals and eight or more assists in 2024 so far, with nine and eight, respectively. The Portugal international has also made more key passes than any other player in the division so far this year (82).
5. Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) - 7.49
Despite missing a number of games at the beginning of the new season, Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has still created more chances from open play than any other Premier League player in 2024 (62). The Norwegian has registered four goals and eight assists in 22 league appearances thus far.
4. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) - 7.61
Another player struck by injury over the course of this year has been Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, whose average WhoScored rating of 7.61 sees him earn fourth place in our top 10. In 22 league appearances, the 33-year-old has recorded four goals and 11 assists, while his 24 big chances created are still more than any other player.
3. Rodri (Manchester City) - 7.66
Manchester City’s Ballon d’Or winning midfielder Rodri made just one league start this season before suffering an ACL injury, but his performances towards the end of the last campaign put him in third place. Despite not playing since September, the Spaniard has still made more accurate passes than any other midfielder in the division this year (1865), while he has also notched four goals and seven assists since the beginning of January.
2. Cole Palmer (Chelsea) - 7.77
Chelsea star Cole Palmer narrowly misses out on top spot, despite having registered at least seven more goal involvements than any other player in the Premier League in 2024 (33 - 21 goals, 12 assists). The 22-year-old has made a blistering start to the 2024/25 campaign, with seven goals and five assists in 11 matches so far.
1. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) - 7.84
With a WhoScored rating of 7.84, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is our highest rated player in the Premier League since the beginning of 2024. The Gunners star has registered 23 goal involvements (13 goals, 10 assists), and more touches in the opposition box than any other player so far (221).
