Manchester City are set to reignite their interest in Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to the Daily Mail.
Manuel Pellegrini and Isco worked together at Malaga and the City boss tried to bring the 23-year-old with him to the Etihad when he was made Roberto Mancini’s successor in 2013.
However, Isco instead opted to remain in Spain and join Real Madrid. He has struggled to nail down a regular first-team berth since making the swap and is reportedly considering leaving the club after growing frustrated by Rafa Benitez.
According to the report, Madrid are anticipating a bid from City over the next month but are only willing to part ways with the Spaniard for an offer in excess £30m.
Isco isn’t just a creative buzz, but is also prepared to work hard off the ball. In fact, since joining Real Madrid only Luka Modric (209) has won possession more in the midfield third than Isco (204).
