Manchester City want Napoli defender

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has turned his attentions to Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam and the Premier League outfit have preparing a €13m (£11m) offer, reports Tuttomercatoweb, via Football Italia.

Ghoulam will only have 12 months remaining on his existing deal in the summer and has reportedly already turned down Napoli’s latest contract offer, which would make a summer exit inevitable at this point.

The Algeria international is also being watched by the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, but Guardiola is keen to pip their European rivals to his signature.

The 26-year-old has spent the last three years with Napoli after joining from French side Saint-Etienne in 2014 but now looks set for a high profile move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs in the summer.

Ghoulam has registered four assists in Serie A this season, more than he has managed in any campaign for Napoli.
