Inter prepared to sell frontman

Inter are willing to sell captain Mauro Icardi for €25m (£19m) after falling out of favour with head coach Roberto Mancini, reports Sport Mediaset.

Icardi, 22, was dropped to the bench for Inter’s 3-0 defeat to rivals AC Milan on Sunday and then missed a penalty when they were only a goal down in the second half.

Reports suggest Inter are now weighing up allowing Icardi to leave in a sensational late January sale if a £19m bid comes in.

The Argentina striker only signed a new deal over the summer and was handed the captaincy, but he has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Since the start of last season, only Gonzalo Higuain (40) has scored more goals than Icardi in Serie A (30).
