Manchester United have dropped their interest in Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and have instead turned their attention to PSG’s Thomas Meunier, reports the Sun.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the full backing of the board to spend big this summer, with right-back one of the priority areas of investment.
Wan-Bissaka had emerged as a number one target for United after a splendid season with Palace as his stock continues to soar.
However, Solskjaer would prefer to have a more experienced option at right-back rather than two youngsters in the position.
Diogo Dalot is currently Ashley Young’s understudy in the position at Old Trafford, yet at 20 years of age, remains too raw to be considered a first team regular.
With Young expected to leave at the end of the season following a disappointing display in United’s 1-0 loss to Barcelona, Solskjaer is now considering a move for Meunier.
The 27-year-old has made just 15 league starts for PSG this season, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.15 in the process.
And PSG could be open to selling the Belgian at the end of the season in order to abide to FFP regulatations, with United interested in Meunier.
