Arsenal will not entertain any offers from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.
Sanchez will only have 12 months remaining on his existing £130,000-a-week Arsenal deal this summer and the Chile international is yet to accept terms on an improved £275,000-a-week offer that is currently on the table.
Arsene Wenger has been adamant that Arsenal will refuse to sell Sanchez to one of their direct Premier League rivals and City manager Pep Guardiola looks set to miss out on a reunion with the 28-year-old despite the fact they are willing to pay Arsenal £50m.
With a summer switch to another Premier League side off the cards, it leaves Bayern Munich as the only side in the running for the Arsenal No.7 and Carlo Ancelotti’s side are reportedly willing to hand Sanchez £350,000-a-week wages to prize him away from the Emirates.
At the same time, Arsenal are running the risk of losing Sanchez for nothing next summer when his contract expires and it remains to be seen whether they would realistically be willing to turn their backs on £50m only to see Sanchez join a direct rival 12 months down the line.
However, keeping Sanchez is a priority for Wenger's side this summer as he has been one of few genuinely world class players in the Premier League since joining from Barcelona for £35m in 2014.
Only Harry Kane (36) scored or assisted more goals in the Premier League last season than Sanchez (34).
