Monaco enter race for Manchester United midfielder

Monaco are the latest club to express an interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, reports Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure.

Fellaini has entered the final few months of his current United deal and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides.

The Belgium international has already been heavily linked with summer moves to Turkish side Besiktas and French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Jose Mourinho is keen for Fellaini to extend his stay at Old Trafford but it increasingly looks like he will leave in the summer on a free transfer.

Monaco have reached out to Fellaini’s representatives to sound out a potential summer switch, but Leonardo Jardim’s side will face stiff competition for his signature.

The 30-year-old has barely featured this season after suffering two knee injuries but is now fit again and currently on international duty with the Belgium national team.

Under Mourinho, United have a far superior win ratio when Fellaini has featured in the Premier League (61%) compared to the 27 matches he has missed (48.1%).
