West Brom seal deal for Evans

West Bromwich Albion have completed a £6m deal to sign Manchester United defender Jonny Evans, the club has announced.

Evans, 27, completed his medical on Saturday and has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Hawthorns.

The Northern Ireland international had been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after failing to feature in any of United’s opening three league games this season.

“It’s a new, fresh challenge for me. One I’m looking forward to. I know a few of the lads already and I spoke to a couple, who highly recommended the club.”
