The Burnley manager is keen to address the left-back position after switching between Stephen Ward and Charlie Taylor throughout the season.
Dyche signed Taylor from Leeds 12 months ago and is now ready to dip back into the Championship to sign another full-back.
Bryan has thoroughly impressed for Bristol City this season, knocking Manchester United out of the League Cup with a stunning effort in December.
The 24-year-old, who can also play in an advanced left position, has scored four goals and provided three assists in 42 league games for the Robins this term.
