Fiorentina have announced they have signed Giovanni Simeone on a five-year deal until June 2022.
The Viola have been heavily linked with a move for the Argentine forward, who is the son of Atletico head coach Diego, all summer and have fended off interest from Tottenham to land the 22-year-old.
Fiorentina have come in for pressure from their supporters this summer following the sales of Federico Bernardeschi, Matias Vecino, Josip Ilicic and Borja Valero, but they have finally made a big splash in the market.
Simeone has reportedly cost the Viola in the region of £20m, but his arrival will almost certainly see Nikola Kalinic join AC Milan, bringing close to another drawn-out saga.
Only Andrea Belotti (26) and Keita Balde (16) scored more goals than Simeone (12) in Serie A last season of players aged 23 and under.
