Manchester United consider bid for another top Manchester City target

Manchester United are ready to lock horns with Manchester City again this month following their late bid to hi-jack their rivals’ move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, reports The Daily Record.

It emerged on Thursday that United have tabled a bigger offer for Sanchez than their city rival and now Jose Mourinho is looking to gazump Pep Guardiola again.

The United boss earmarked Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred as a summer transfer target earlier in the season but may bring forward his interest with a bid this month following news Guardiola also wants the Brazilian.

Fred has been earmarked as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho and the 24-year-old has even revealed this month that he wants to join City to work under Guardiola.

However, that hasn’t deterred Mourinho’s interest and a January bid may follow if he believes that would put him out of the reach of City.

Of the 105 players that have attempted at least 10 dribbles in the Champions League this season, Fred has the best success rate (95.2%).
