The agent of Hakan Calhanoglu has revealed the Bayer Leverkusen star may have already played his last game for the club.
Calhanoglu, 23, is out for the remainder of the season after being banned by FIFA at the start of last month in relation to an agreement with Turkish side Trabzonspor that he broke in 2011.
The Turkey international was arguably enjoying his finest campaign for Leverkusen prior to being suspended for six-months and has already been regularly linked with a big money move away from the club in the past.
However, despite foregoing the rest of his salary for the season, his agent, Bektas Demirtas, has refused to rule out a summer departure.
“Haken will be [under contract] for Leverkusen for three years,” he told Kicker, via AS. “If an offer comes along that is fine for Bayer and which also fits with Hakan, we will do a transfer. But the final decision lies with the club."
In the last four Bundesliga campaigns, Calhanoglu has scored at least six more free-kicks than any other player (11), accentuating his statistically calculated strength of ‘direct free-kicks’ and ‘taking set-pieces’.
