Everton plot stunning move for Liverpool and Manchester United target
Everton have entered the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer this summer, claims The Sun.
Ramsey will leave Arsenal at the end of the season when his current contract expires.
The Wales international confirmed during the international break that Arsenal have stepped away from discussions, with Liverpool and Manchester United circling.
Jose Mourinho wants United to try and sign Ramsey in January on a cut-price deal but the midfielder has already confirmed he wants to see out the season at Arsenal.
United and Liverpool are considered frontrunners for Ramsey but Everton are plotting an audacious move with a contract worth £150,000-a-week.
It would be a stunning play from Everton and even more of a shock if they manage to fend off interest from their Premier League rivals.
United and Liverpool would not only be able to offer more money, but also the greater chance of silverware.
It could therefore fall down to Marco Silva’s pulling power and whether the Portuguese can convince Ramsey to move to Goodison Park.
Since the start of last season, only Alexandre Lacazette (24) has played a direct hand in more Premier League goals for Arsenal than Ramsey (19).
