Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he is interested in signing Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.
Barcelona shelled out £135.5m to sign Dembele from Borussia Dortmund last summer but the youngster has struggled to make an impact this season.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona after just one season at the club and would not be short of suitors.
Klopp was asked on Sunday whether he would hand Dembele a route out of Barcelona and the Liverpool confirmed an interest.
“Is he on the market? Now I’m interested,” The Daily Mail quote Klopp as saying.
Liverpool are expected to make a big name signing to bolster their offensive options after opting against replacing Philippe Coutinho in January.
Lyon striker Nabil Fekir has also been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the last few days, although their president has denied an agreement with Liverpool.
The 20-year-old has only started nine league matches for Barcelona this season after enduring an injury-hit first year at the club.
Dembele has still managed to provide six assists in La Liga despite struggling for regular playing time.
