Paris Saint-Germain make shock loan enquiry for Arsenal outcast

Paris Saint-Germain have failed with a shock loan move for Arsenal creator Mesut Ozil, claims German outlet Suddeutsche Zeitung.

Thomas Tuchel is concerned PSG’s season is in danger of fizzling out after it was confirmed Neymar would be sidelined for 10 weeks with a second serious foot injury in two years.

PSG are already working on signing Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye and it has now emerged that the Ligue 1 champions have sounded out Ozil over a possible loan deal.

Ozil has been pushed to the fringes at Arsenal under new manager Unai Emery, though was surprisingly named as captain in their 2-1 win over Cardiff on Tuesday.

The former Germany international signed a bumper new deal worth in excess of £300,000-a-week 12 months ago and Arsenal will struggle to shift his wages.

Despite falling down the pecking order at the Emirates, it is now being claimed that Ozil has rejected a loan move to PSG this month.

Ozil started his first Premier League match in over a month in midweek and has now failed to score in nine straight matches in all competitions.

Despite limited playing time, only Granit Xhaka (27) has provided more key passes than Ozil (25) in the Premier League of all Arsenal players.
