West Brom turn to former Palace boss as Pulis successor

West Brom are eyeing up Alan Pardew as a potential successor for Tony Pulis at the Hawthorns, reports the Express & Star. 

Pulis was relieved of his duties with the Baggies on the back of a 4-0 humbling at the hands of Chelsea over the weekend. 

West Brom currently linger just one point above the relegation zone with a 10-match winless run culminating in a fall down the table. 

Gary Megson takes caretaker charge of the Baggies for their visit to Tottenham on Saturday, but the board are looking to appoint Pardew in their quest to land a manager who has Premier League experience. 

The same report suggests 56-year-old Pardew will be interviewed this week ahead of his possible appointment. 

Sam Allardyce and Ronald Koeman were both earmarked as potential Pulis replacements, though the pair are not interested in the role, while Martin O’Neill and Nigel Pearson have also been earmarked. 

Pardew, though, is the favourite for the role and West Brom hope to have confirmed his appointment ahead of the welcome of Newcastle next week.
