Watford sign La Liga goalscoring sensation

Watford have landed their sixth signing of the January transfer window after announcing the signature of Granada striker Adalberto Penaranda.

The Hornets have signed the talented forward on a four-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee and it is their second signing on deadline day following the arrival Abdoulaye Doucoure from French side Rennes.

The 18-year-old broke Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest non-Spanish player to notch a brace in La Liga in December, just a 12 months after becoming Granada’s youngest-ever player to turn out in the league.

Furthermore, only Sporting Gijon striker Antonio Sanabria has scored more league goals (10) than Penaranda (4) of teenagers to have turned out in Spain’s top-flight this season.
