Arsenal have tabled an offer in excess of €30m (£26.4m) for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, reports L’Equipe.
Arsene Wenger has made signing Lemar one of his main priorities this summer as he looks to step up his long-standing interest in the 21-year-old that dates back to his time at Caen in 2015.
Arsenal were beaten to his signature by Monaco two years ago and Wenger is determined to secure his services this summer ahead of Atletico Madrid, who failed with a bid for the France international 12 months ago.
The Premier League giants are currently looking to resolve the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who have 12 months remaining on their existing deals, but Lemar could potentially arrive as Sanchez’s replacement.
Only Morgan Sanson (14) provided more assists in Ligue 1 last season than Lemar (9), while no player aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues created more key chances than the Monaco winger (74).
