Manchester United have reached an agreement with Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, according to Sky Italia.
Louis van Gaal’s side now need to match Torino’s €18m valuation for the versatile 25-year-old, with Juventus reportedly monitoring the situation.
The Italy international certainly fits the profile for players Van Gaal gravitates towards. Darmian can play right across the back, suits a back three and has also experience playing further forward.
Only three other players have successfully made more tackles than Darmian in the last three Serie A campaigns (351) and he would certaintly fill the void at right-back, with winger-by-trade Antonio Valencia currently first choice at Old Trafford.
