Manchester United will make a move for Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez at the end of the season, reports the Sun.
The Colombia international has been linked with a Bernabeu exit in January, though any move away from Madrid this month is unlikely to come to fruition.
Rodriguez has struggled for regular first team action for Real Madrid this season and has been courted by Chelsea.
The player and United boss Jose Mourinho share the same agent in Jorge Mendes, which could work in United’s favour in the summer.
United are well stocked with attacking options behind the striker, but the capture of Rodriguez would be a statement of intent by the Premier League giants.
Real Madrid’s squad is thin, though, and a lack of strength in depth means the La Liga giants are unlikely to sanction his sale in January.
United could return in the summer for the 25-year-old, however Real Madrid are demanding at least £50m if they are to sell.
