Paris Saint-Germain injury news: Neymar out for two months

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has decided to undergo surgery on his ankle injury and will be sidelined for two months, claims AS.

The 26-year-old was stretchered off in tears at the end of PSG’s 3-0 win over Marseille on Sunday after going over on his ankle.

Further scan results have since revealed that not only did Neymar sprain his right ankle, but he also fractured his fifth metatarsal.

PSG will attempt to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with Real Madrid next week but will have to do so without star man Neymar.

Moreover, it has now emerged that PSG will have to make do without the world’s most expensive player for the next two months with the Brazilian now booked in for surgery.

With the 2018 World Cup around the corner, Neymar is leaving nothing to chance after suffering major tournament heartache four years ago in Brazil.

Neymar has been in sensational form for Unai Emery’s side since completing a shock €222m move from Barcelona over the summer and his absence will really hinder PSG’s chances of overcoming Madrid.
