Manchester United plot stunning £90m move for Real Madrid target
Manchester United are preparing a stunning £90m move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, reports The Sun.
Jose Mourinho wants to reunite with the Belgium international and has been alerted to a potential deal as Hazard is reportedly contemplating his future at Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid are favourites to land Hazard if he does in fact decide he wants out of Chelsea but Mourinho is ready to rival his former club’s bid for the Premier League star.
Hazard has reportedly already turned down a new £300,000-a-week deal from Chelsea but Antonio Conte’s side are determined to secure his long-term future before the end of the season.
Chelsea want his future resolved before the 2018 World Cup where they anticipate his reputation will only increase in Russia.
United have already shown in each of the last two transfer windows they are not afraid of splashing the cash and they are prepared to break the British transfer record to land Hazard, having missed out on his signature to Chelsea in 2012.
However, it would be remarkable business if Chelsea even considered strengthening a direct rival like United with one of the best players in the league, even though they let Nemanja Matic move to Old Trafford in the summer.
The 26-year-old has scored or assisted 12 goals in 21 games across League and European competition this season. Incredibly, Hazard has only missed the target with five of his 27 shots in the Premier League this term - boasting (min 20+ shots) a league high shot accuracy (66.7%).
