Sevilla are looking to secure the services of Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi this summer, though their opening offers falls below the Villans’ asking price, reports Spanish publication Marca.
Villa are prepared to cut their losses on the French defender, who sustained a serious knee injury just months after his arrival from Nice.
Amavi never quite recovered his best from following his return to fitness and Villa are now willing to cash in on the 23-year-old.
Sevilla have made an opening offer of £5.3m, but the Midlands outfit are holding out for £9m as they look to recoup the money they paid to land the Frenchman back in 2015.
The La Liga side are keen to bolster their left-back options, with Sergio Escudero currently Sevilla’s only specialist in this position at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Amavi made 26 league starts for Aston Villa last season as Steve Bruce’s side finished 13th in the second tier of English football.
