Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of FC Porto left-back Alex Telles on a four-year deal with an option to a further 12 months.
The Red Devils have finally got a deal over the line for the 27-year-old after agreeing a £15.6m deal with Porto late on Sunday night.
Telles was getting ready to join the Brazilian national team for the international break when a breakthrough was made in talks.
The Brazilian's desire to join United forced Porto to reduce their €22m (£20m) asking price and accept an initial £13.6m fee.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate to sign a left-back all summer to provide meaningful competition for Luke Shaw and allow Brandon Williams to move over to right-back.
Shaw offers little at both ends while Telles has shown in his four years at Porto he has an eye for goal.
In fact, in that time remarkably only six players have managed a direct hand in more Liga NOS goals than Telles (60).
