West Ham are considering a January move for out of favour Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 32-year-old has struggled for regular game time under Maurizio Sarri this season, making only three appearances in all competitions for the Blues.
Cahill’s contract expires this summer and it’s looking increasingly unlikely that Chelsea will offer him a new deal.
Indeed, it’s rumoured that Cahill is willing to listen to offers at the turn of the year as he seeks regular game time having made just one league appearance, that coming from the bench, this term.
West Ham’s three-match unbeaten run came to an abrupt end in a 1-0 loss at Brighton prior to the international break and they’ll look to correct their form when they face Tottenham next weekend.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is hoping to add some experience to the defence, with the east London side keeping just one clean sheet this season.
Pellegrini has the support of the West Ham board and he hopes that he can convince Cahill to swap Stamford Bridge for the London Stadium in January.
