PSG's pursuit of Messi a boost for Man Utd

PSG's pursuit of Lionel Messi could prove to be a boost for Manchester United in their quest to land Eduardo Camavinga, reports the Daily Star.

Messi confirmed that he will be leaving Barcelona this summer after his contract expired and he is widely expected to move to PSG next week.

Indeed, the French side have offered the 34-year-old a two-year deal and he is set to be confirmed as a PSG player in the coming days.

The 2020/21 Ligue 1 runners' up have also been credited with an interest in Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, but their push to sign Messi will have affected their finances.

While Camavinga is keen on a move to PSG, United will hope to now lure the youngster to Old Trafford.

United have spent big this summer already, bringing in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane from Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, respectively.

However, they remain in the market for a holding midfielder with Camavinga a top target for the Premier League outfit.

18-year-old Camavinga has less than a year left to run on his current deal with Rennes and there has been little movement to suggest he will extend his stay with the French side.

Camavinga played 69 minutes of Rennes' opening weekend 1-1 draw with Lens on Sunday.
