What team dominates the Premier League Team of the Week?

Arsenal’s season continues to grow from strength to strength and they have now emerged as Manchester City’s closest rivals for the title this season. Saturday’s 3-0 win over Swansea means the Gunners have now won their last five in the league to keep tabs with City at the top of the table. Their routine victory saw four players make the Team of the Week for gameweek 11, a representation no team could better.

Joel Campbell made sure it was a first Premier League start to remember against Swansea as the Costa Rica international netted his first goal of the season. It has been a frustrating slog for the 23-year-old since he impressed with a series of dazzling displays at the World Cup last summer. Campbell has remained patient and took his chance at the weekend with Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey all out injured.

Not only was Campbell a threat going forward but he also carried out his defensive duties with diligence and provided Hector Bellerin with more than enough support on the right flank. In fact, only Nacho Monreal (4) – also in the Team of the Week – made more tackles than Campbell (3).

As well as Campbell and Monreal, Arsenal also had Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny in the starting XI. Ozil has been in mesmeric form over the last four weeks and was again amongst everything that was good about Arsene Wenger’s side at the weekend. The Germany international completed 53 of his 59 passes and also had the second most touches of the ball for an Arsenal player (72). Added to that, the former Real Madrid creator also created at least two more clear-cut chances than any other player (5).

However, despite their impressive displays, it was Koscielny that picked up the WhoScored man of the match after garnering an unrivalled rating of 8.73. The France international got on the scoresheet and only Francis Coquelin (6) made more interceptions than the Arsenal defender (5).
