Real Sociedad pull off audacious signing of Borussia Dortmund striker
Real Sociedad have announced a surprise deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Aleksander Isak.
The Spanish side have reportedly paid in the region of €10m (£8.9m) for Isak and the 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Isak has spent the last two years at Dortmund but failed to make a significant impression at the Bundesliga club.
The Sweden international enjoyed a stunning loan spell with Dutch side Willem II in the second half of last season.
Isak scored 13 goals and six assists in 16 league appearances for Willem II but it was not enough to force his way into Dortmund’s long-term planning.
The teenage striker has instead signed a long-term deal with Sociedad and will compete for a starting berth up front alongside Willian Jose.
Only Dusan Tadic (25) has played a direct hand in more league goals than Isak (19) in the Eredivisie in 2019.
