Reiss Nelson has revealed he wants to sign a new contract with Arsenal despite reported interest from Real Madrid.
The 18-year-old will have 12 months left to run on his existing Arsenal deal at the end of the season and Madrid are monitoring his future at the Emirates.
Paris Saint-Germain are understood to have also expressed an interested in prising the teenager away from Arsenal but Nelson says he intends to commit to the Gunners.
“It is a big achievement to sign for a big club like Arsenal so I’m just delighted with the contract and hopeful that I can sign it soon,” he told the London Evening Standard.
“Wenger is one of the biggest [influences] for me, he keeps pushing the youngster – me, Eddie [Nketiah] and Joe [Willock] – I think he has got a bright future planned for us.
“We just have to keep training well and he is always going to push us and will give us first-team football when the opportunities arise.”
Nelson became the youngest Arsenal player to start a Premier League match since September 2013 in their 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday.
The teenage wideman has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, but is yet to open his account for the Gunners.
