Which Chelsea star topped the Premier League rankings in gameweek six?
By Chelsea’s standards, this has been a poor start to the season. They entered gameweek six having made their worst start to a league campaign in 29 years and with a defence that has conceded more goals than any other in England’s top-flight (12). However, the reigning Premier League champions would now seem to have regained some of the verve that helped them lift the title last season after running out comfortable - albeit helped by Mike Dean - 2-0 winners against Arsenal on Saturday.
Included in their astute performance was a return to form for last season’s PFA Player of the Year, Eden Hazard. The Chelsea winger has been one of a number of players to have made a poor start to the season at Stamford Bridge, but he finally notched his first goal of the campaign to secure the Blues’ second win of the season.
The Belgium international completed at least twice as many dribbles as any other player at Stamford Bridge (8) and particularly seemed to have the upper hand on Hector Bellerin on their left flank. Added to that, only Pedro had as many shots on target as Hazard (2) and only Nemanja Matic (94) and Cesc Fabregas (100) had more touches than the 24-year-old (91).
Hazard finished the match with a WhoScored rating of 9.66 – with Fabregas a distant second (8.23).
