Bayern Munich want Paris Saint-Germain star to replace Ribery

Bayern Munich have earmarked Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler as their ideal replacement for Franck Ribery in the summer, reports France Football.

Ribery’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and it appears unlikely he will be handed an extension after tearing knee ligaments at the start of October.

Bayern are already looking at long-term replacements for 34-year-old and have reportedly bookmarked a move to bring Draxler back to Germany at the end of the season.

Draxler only left Wolfsburg to join PSG at the start of the year but his future was unexpectedly thrown into doubt over the summer following the shock arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The Germany international will struggle for regular playing time this season and Bayern will continue to monitor his progress with a view to a summer move.

Of the 42 players that have attempted at least 50 dribbles in Ligue 1 in 2017, only PSG team-mate Marco Verratti (85.2%) has a better success rate than Draxler (78.8%).
