AC Milan ready £27m bid for Chelsea midfielder

AC Milan will look to test Chelsea’s resolves once more in the summer and firm up their interest in Cesc Fabregas with a £27m bid, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Fabregas has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge since the start of the season after dropping down the pecking order under Antonio Conte.

The Spain international has, to his credit, knuckled down and worked hard to force his way back into contention for Chelsea and has proved a real asset, playing a starring role in their 3-1 win over Swansea on Saturday.

Fabregas has constantly reiterated his desire to stay at the club this summer, but Chelsea could still be tempted into selling the former Barcelona midfielder if they receive an offer they cannot refuse.

The 29-year-old became the first Spaniard to make 300 appearances in the Premier League at the weekend and is a player Milan are desperate to add to their squad as they look to get themselves back among the top clubs in Spain.

It would mean Chelsea recoup all of the money they paid Barcelona in 2014, which would be great business for a player turns 30 in May and is no longer a first team regular at the club.

Despite being limited to just six league starts this season, Fabregas has still been at his creative best. In fact, he is playing a decisive part in a league goal every 63.9 minutes this season.
