Marseille are eyeing another Premier League raid with the signature of Leicester ace Riyad Mahrez this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.
The French giants re-signed Dimitri Payet from West Ham in January and are now interested in adding more star quality as they aim to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Mahrez was voted the PFA Player of the Year last season in Leicester’s shock Premier League title triumph and even turned down the chance to join Arsenal last summer, but has struggled to rediscover his best form this time around.
The Algeria international performed well in Leicester’s Champions League run to the quarter-finals and is still expected to attract interest at the end of the season, with Marseille keen to complete a deal before their European rivals.
Mahrez, 26, played a direct hand in 28 league goals last season (17 goals, 11 assists) but has only managed to score or assist nine times this time around. Since the start of last season only Wilfried Zaha (264) and Eden Hazard (221) have completed more dribbles in the Premier League than Mahrez (203).
