London based Premier League pair Tottenham and Chelsea are prepared to battle it out over the signing of Jackson Martinez.
The Colombia international moved to Atletico Madrid over the summer, but has failed to match his fine goalscoring form shown during his time with FC Porto.
As such, Diego Simeone is prepared to sanction a short-term loan move in order for Martinez to regain some confidence.
The 29-year-old has only two league goals to his name this season and has failed to hold down a regular starting spot, with Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres ahead of the Colombian in the pecking order.
Spurs are looking to bolster their attack in the New Year to ease the goalscoring burden on Harry Kane, while Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for Loic Remy and cut short Falcao's loan spell short, meaning their frontline would require strengthening.
