Crystal Palace consider former Manchester City boss as Allardyce replacement

Crystal Palace are to offer Manuel Pellegrini another chance of managing in the Premier League, reports the Sun.

The Chilean is currently in charge of Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune and has overseen their rise to third in the table.

However, their form under the 63-year-old has been indifferent since taking over the reins last August and he could therefore be tempted by a return to England.

Pellegrini left as Manchester City boss 12 months ago, but remains highly thought of in the Premier League after winning 70 of 114 games during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

Palace will now hope to convince Pellegrini to leave China and move to Selhurst Park as Allardyce’s replacement.

The former England manager left the Eagles after securing their top flight safety, with the south London side keen to bring in his replacement as soon as possible.

Sean Dyche was rumoured to be the frontrunner to succeed Allardyce, though rumours of his appointment have died out of late, with Pellegrini now emerging as a potential candidate.

Marco Silva was also high on the club’s wish list before opting to instead take over Watford.
