Juventus have had a €50m (£49.2m) bid to re-sign Alvaro Morata rejected by Atletico Madrid, reports Marca.
Morata is unhappy at Atletico and new Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo wants to bring the 27-year-old back to Turin.
Juventus have even seen a surprise bid turned down by their Spanish counterparts, who are holding out for his €150m release clause.
However, there is no chance Juventus will shatter their club-transfer record to land Morata in the current climate.
With terms agreed to sign Luis Suarez from Barcelona, Juventus' interest in Morata comes as a shock in the first place.
The Spain international spent two years at Juventus before returning to boyhood club Real Madrid in 2016 and has since endured underwhelming spells at Chelsea and Atletico.
Last season saw Morata made 20+ league starts in a single campaign for only the second time in his career.
The 2019/20 LaLiga campaign was Morata's second most prolific season of his career to date with 12 goals scored for Atletico.
