Which team dominates a Real Madrid and PSG combined XI?

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid will meet at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night in arguably the biggest tie of the Champions League proper thus far. It will see Rafa Benitez’s Galacticos come up against their French equivalent. The Ligue 1 champions have thrown money at their team in each of the six seasons since Qatari investors bought the Parisien club, but which team comes out on top in a combined XI when considering their league and Champions League form?

The outcome is marginally in favour of the home side, with PSG coming out on top with six players in the starting XI. Although, it must be stated that the complexion of the team could have looked different had James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale’s season for Madrid not been curtailed through injury.

Interestingly, the front three which is formed of Angel Di Maria (7.54 WhoScored rating), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (7.98) and Cristiano Ronaldo (8.00) is one that could actually be a reality as early as next season if reports that indicate PSG are stepping up their bid to sign Ronaldo at the end of the season are to be believed. Although, any Ronaldo incoming is likely to see Ibrahimovic move out the other way even if this trio would have fans dripping with excitement. After all, when combined, this trio of attackers have played a direct hand in 27 goals from 26 league and European appearances thus far.

Which team dominates a Real Madrid and PSG combined XI?

Both sides are looking to maintain their 100 per cent record in group A of the Champions League when they meet this evening in what should be an enthralling tie between two evenly matched sides.

Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 champions will have to find a way past an imperious Keylor Navas (7.43 WhoScored rating) if they are to come away with all three points. Navas, whose future looked set to be away from Madrid over the summer, currently boosts a save success rate of 91.6% in La Liga, having kept six clean sheets in their opening eight league matches.
