West Ham will continue to monitor the performances of SPAL defender Francesco Vicari ahead of the January transfer window, reports Calciomercato, via talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old has made an impressive start to the season with newly-promoted Serie A side SPAL after joining Leonardo Semplici’s side last year.
His performances have landed him on the radar of West Ham, who want to bolster their defensive options in the January transfer window.
Only Crystal Palace have conceded as many goals as West Ham (both 13) in the Premier League this season and Slaven Bilic is looking to sign a new defender to improve their back line.
Of players that have started at least one Serie A game this season, only Blaise Matuidi (94.6%) has a better pass accuracy than Vicari (93.7%).
