Leeds have made an approach for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher but face competition from Crystal Palace, claims The Athletic.
Gallagher spent last season on loan at West Brom but is now looking for a new Premier League club to join after the Baggies were relegated.
The 21-year-old still has four years left to run on his current Chelsea contract and despite never making a first-team appearance for the club he is not for sale.
Thomas Tuchel's side are only interested in loan offers for the central midfielder and Leeds are at the front of the queue for him.
Leeds have only made one new signing so far this summer, that the arrival of Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo to replace the out-going Ezgjan Alioski.
Only Everton midfielder Allan (2.8) was dribbled past more times per game than Gallagher (2.3) in the Premier League last season. Moreover, Gallagher ranked second in the entire division for most bookings (11).
