Wales could be without Joe Ledley for the European Championships in the summer after the Crystal Palace midfielder fracturing his leg in training, reports Wales Online.
Ledley, 29, initially was thought to have a developed a Achilles problem but it has now been confirmed he has a minor fracture to his leg and will definitely miss Crystal Palace’s FA Cup final against Manchester United at the end of the month.
Chris Coleman had named the Palace midfielder in his 29-man training squad for this month’s camp in Portugal and will give him every chance of proving his fitness before a decision has to be made on whether he will be included in the final Euro 2016 squad.
The Wales international had been a regular member of the Wales squad that qualified for Euro 2016, starting six of their 10 matches on route to the championships that kick off in France next month.
Ledley is thought to be looking at a three to four week stint on the sidelines, which would take him right up to Wales’ tournament opener against Slovakia on June 11.
Of Welsh players to have made at least 5 appearances across Europe’s top five leagues this season, Ledley is the lowest rated player (6.43 WhoScored.com rating).
