Newcastle close in on Inter outcast

Newcastle are closing in on the January capture of Inter outcast Valentino Lazaro, reports Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb.

The Magpies are eyeing up a move for the Austrian as Steve Bruce aims to add another full-back to the squad this month.

Lazaro has struggled for game time following his summer arrival from Hertha Berlin, where he has made just three starts and six league appearances in all.

Newcastle are set to secure his services on loan with a view to making the move permanent in the summer for £17m.

Lazaro dropped further down the Inter pecking order following the arrival of Ashley Young from Manchester United on Friday night.

Head coach Antonio Conte is also eyeing up a reunion with Victor Moses, with the Nigerian playing a key role in Chelsea's title success in 2017.

Moses' arrival from Fenerbahce would likely signal 23-year-old Lazaro's exit and, crucially, improve Bruce's options at right-back for the second half of the season.
