Juventus agree personal terms with Bayern Munich forward
Juventus have reached personal terms with Douglas Costa and now only need to agree a fee with Bayern Munich to complete the transfer, reports Sky Sport Italia, via Football Italia.
Costa’s agent was in Turin on Tuesday to discuss terms about a potential move to the Serie A champions and the Brazil international is keen to make the switch after dropping down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti last season.
The 26-year-old is free to leave Bayern this summer following the arrival of Serge Gnabry but the Bundesliga giants have put a €50m (£44m) asking price on his head as they look to bankroll a big money move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Juventus are expected to table an initial €40m (£35m) offer that will increase to €45m (£40m) with performance based add-ons and there is a strong feeling the deal will be completed despite the fact their first offer will come in below Bayern’s valuation.
Costa has spent the last two seasons at Bayern after joining from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in 2015 for £21m. The Brazilian was a roaring success under Pep Guardiola in his first campaign but struggled to make the same impact under Ancelotti last season after the Bayern manager reverted back to the experience of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in wide areas.
Despite only starting 14 league matches last season, Costa has completed more dribbles than any other player in the last two Bundesliga campaigns (148).
