Arter pens new Bournemouth deal

 

Harry Arter has penned a new four-year deal with Bournemouth, the club have announced. 

 

The 27-year-old started 33 of 38 Premier League games for the Cherries last season, earning a WhoScored rating of 6.72 in the process. 

 

“Midfielder Harry Arter has signed a new-four contract with AFC Bournemouth,” a statement read on the club’s official website. 

 

“The Republic of Ireland international will remain at Vitality Stadium until at least the summer of 2021. 

 

“Arter, 27, joined the Cherries in June 2010 from non-league Woking, and has played a key role in the club’s rise through the Football League to their ninth-placed Premier League finish last season. 

 

“The former Charlton Athletic trainee has made 239 appearances for AFC Bournemouth to date, scoring 28 goals.” 

 

On hew new deal, Arter said: “Once I heard the club wanted to give me a new deal, it was a pretty easy decision. 

 

“The team has been successful over the last few years and you want to be part of somewhere that is continually progressing. 

 

“I just want to improve all the time and it’s nice to be part of a squad who are all trying to do that, too.”

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe added: “Harry has been such an important player for us over a long period of time. 

 

“He is a real winner and has been at the heart of most of the good things that have happened on the pitch. 

 

“He has been outstanding in terms of his conduct and attitude to the group and it’s great news that he has committed his future to the club.”
