Giroud unsure of Arsenal future

Olivier Giroud has revealed he is unsure if he will still be an Arsenal player next season.

The Frenchman’s first-team opportunities are set to be limited by the signing of compatriot Alexandre Lacazette, with Giroud linked with a move away from the Gunners in the wake of the former’s arrival from Lyon.

The 30-year-old made only 11 Premier League starts for Arsenal and has been linked with moves to Everton and West Ham, with Giroud admitting he does not know if he will still be at the club after the summer.

When asked about his position at the club, Giroud told Sky Sports: "I honestly don't know. At the moment I'm still an Arsenal player so I'll try to be professional like always and prepare well for next season.

"Obviously there will be more competition, even more than last year, but it's always nice for a striker to feel the pressure and I always deal with it.

"I've been through some difficulties these last years but always succeeded to bounce back, but this one I don't know. I don't know about my future so I can't tell you more. I'm focused on my pre-season."

Giroud has scored 98 competitive goals for the Gunners since joining from Montpellier in 2012 and has netted more headed goals (25) than any other Premier League player in the last five seasons.
