Everton set to move for Bernard

Everton are ready to switch their attentions to Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Bernard after failing to make a breakthrough for Andriy Yarmolenko, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The Toffees were prepared to match Yarmolenko’s £14.5m release clause but have found negotiations with Dynamo Kiev frustrating and are now set to walk away and realign their radar to a new target.

Everton are now hopeful of completing a deal for Bernard before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Bernard, 22, joined Shakhtar from Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro for €25m in 2013 and has since gained European experience, turning out in both the Champions League (11) and the Europe League (2).
