West Ham have tabled a €25m (£22.8m) offer for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Milenkovic has often been linked with a move to Manchester United, while Inter will reportedly move for the Fiorentina starlet if Milan Skriniar joins Tottenham.
The 22-year-old, who is capable of playing right-back and centre-back, has been a standout performer for the Viola in the last two seasons.
Napoli's Nikola Maksimovic is also on West Ham's radar and their opening offer for his international team-mate, Milenkovic, is expected to fall short of Fiorentina's valuation.
West Ham are desperate to land a new centre-back before the transfer window closes after enduring a bitterly disappointing summer.
The Hammers have already failed to sign Burnley's James Tarkowski, while Leicester have won the race for Saint-Etienne teenager Wesley Fofana.
Milenkovic has scored eight goals in the league since August 2018 and has an aerial duel success rate of 64.6% in that time.
