Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus join race for Chelsea star

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are prepared to lock horns with Real Madrid for Chelsea star Eden Hazard next summer, reports The Daily Mirror.

Hazard will only have 12 months left to run on his current Chelsea deal at the end of the season and is stalling on signing a new deal.

Madrid were heavily linked with a move for Hazard in the summer but refused to match Chelsea’s £200m asking price.

Chelsea will be forced to lower their valuation at the end of the season if Hazard refuses to agree terms on a new deal and PSG and Juventus are monitoring his future.

Despite the fact Chelsea are willing to make Hazard the best-paid player in the club’s history on £300,000-a-week wages, his future increasingly looks like it will be away from Stamford Bridge.

PSG’s interest comes as a shock as they are currently treading a very fine with Financial Fair Play and there are even suggestions they may soon have to sell one of Neymar or Kylian Mbappe.

Hazard became a star in France prior to joining Chelsea but it remains to be sen whether the 27-year-old has any interest in returning to Ligue 1.

Juventus made a statement by signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid in the summer and bolstering their ranks with Hazard would only make them an even more formidable outfit.

Hazard has played a direct hand in 15 goals in as many league games this season (seven goals, eight assists) after setting up both of Chelsea’s goals in their 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Furthermore, only Raheem Sterling (7.91) has a higher WhoScored rating than Hazard (7.89) in the Premier League this season.
