Mourinho looking to Monaco man

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is hoping to strike a deal with Monaco over the transfer of Brazilian full-back Fabinho, reports the Sun.

The 22-year-old and Mourinho share Jorge Mendes as an agent, which would help in any potential deal for the Monaco man.

Fabinho is highly thought of in France, with he making 34 Ligue 1 starts last season to return a WhoScored rating of 7.34.

The young defender is now keen to ply his trade in the Premier League, with United looking to strengthen at right-back this summer.

It is believed his move would set United back £22m, a fee they are willing to pay before the new season gets underway, with the Brazil international netting six league goals - all of which were penalties - last season; only Aytac Sulu (7) scored more of defenders in Europe's top five leagues last season.
