Ramsey could leave Arsenal this summer

Arsenal may be forced to sell Aaron Ramsey this summer if he fails to agree a new deal before the start of next season, claims The Sun.

Ramsey’s current contract is due to expire at the end of next season and Arsenal want to avoid a situation identical to the one they encountered with Alexis Sanchez this term.

The Gunners were forced to sell Sanchez to Manchester United in January after the Chile international made it clear he would run down his contract, which was due to expire this summer.

After handing big contracts to the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, Ramsey wants a significant raise on his current terms to pen a new Arsenal deal.

Ramsey will not be short of suitors should Arsenal have to cash in on the Wales international this summer, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly monitoring his future.

The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career, never starting more than 30 Premier League games in a single-campaign.

However, Ramsey has been a regular goalscorer from midfield, even netting 10 times during the 2013/14 season.

Despite only starting 21 league games this season, only Alexandre Lacazette (18) scored or assisted more goals than Ramsey (15) for the Gunners.
